Bless•ed Booch has been putting Laguna Beach on the map with their fresh, seasonal, imaginative brews. We love when a kombucha brand reflects the location where it’s brewed, and bless•ed booch is a perfect example. It just has this mellow, beachy, sunny vibe that is inherent to Laguna.
Everything is self-funded and hand-made, down to the labels, and founder Christy Rumbaugh makes really creative use of flavors and teas. Take Grape + Ginger + Lavender: The sweet-and-tart of green grape really balances the kick of ginger and the softness of lavender. Or Kiwi + Mint + Cinnamon: The warmth of cinnamon and the freshness of mint swirl beautifully with the sweet juiciness of kiwi. And our favorite, Immunity, which has purple grape, elderberry, sage, ginger, clove and cinnamon. It’s an awesome flavor for the cold season.
The leap from being a kombucha consumer to commercial brewer was quite swift for Christy. Back in 2014, she purchased her first starter kit from a local brewer, and within six months, she already had set her idea on starting her own kombucha brand. She had a vision, but no name. Nothing seemed to hit. Then, one night, as Christy was approaching her first farmer’s market, she found herself sitting at Top of the World in Laguna Beach—a popular community park with sweeping coastal views. There was an epic sunset, with a blood moon, fuchsia clouds and a thick fog. Christy thought about how blessed she was, and suddenly—she had her new brand name!
